Baahubali sets world record, cash counters ticking

Late last month, film Baahubali: The Beginning team unveiled the largest poster of the blockbuster multilingual film in Kochi, Kerala, and set a new world record. The poster had an area of 50,000sq/ft and was printed by Kochi-based wide-format specialist Global United Media, which has been listed as the record holder.

The previous record for the largest poster was of size 32,000 sq/ft.
 
The world’s largest poster was unveiled by the film’s lead actors Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah Bhatia, along with the entire crew of the film. It depicted the portrait shot of the film’s Telugu actor, Prabhas.
 
SS Rajamouli, the director of the film, shared the world record news on his Facebook wall as well as twitter handle with – “Now it’s officially awarded, congratulation to Prem Menon and his team at Global United Media, Malayalam partners of Baahubali.”
 
Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning, is the Indian bilingual historical fiction film that was released last month. The film is made in Telugu, Tamil, dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam and also in French. From the sets and the macho look of the actors of the film, Rajamouli has made sure everything is grand and of epic size. It has earned the tag of being the “most expensive movie in the Indian cinema”.
 
The film has reportedly set the cash counter at the box-office ringing after it collected Rs 165-crore in its opening week. And with the blaze still going strong among the audience, the film is all set to reach the total worldwide box office collection of Rs 500 crore.
