With a forward from Pathak, the book has been compiled and published by GandhiServe India, and was printed at Mumbai-based Sonigraphics.

“It was a proud moment for us that we could produce a book on Bapu and that the first copy of the book was presented to the prime minister,” Neil Soni of Sonigraphics said.

Mahatma: Gandhi’s Life in Colour contains colour pictures representing different phases of Gandhi’s life. For this, experts including Gandhian scholars, historians, photo experts and graphic designers came together to turn 1,300 black & white photos into colour.

The print-run of the 692-page book is 1,000 and it comes with a slipcase, which was designed on 120 gsm brown textured paper and was mounted on 3 mm Kappa board. The cover jacket was printed on 170 gsm matt coated paper. Sonigraphics used 150 gsm matt coated paper for text.

In all, the book is a five-colour job with satin varnish. In finishing, the hardbound book has gold foil on the cover, and the jacket of the book is matt finished and laminated.

Sulabh International is an India-based NGO working for human rights, environmental sanitation, nonconventional sources of energy, waste management and social reforms through education, among others.
