Bengaluru’s PrintXpert invests in Ricoh Pro C5100s

“We have an offset setup. We are focused on long-run volume jobs. However, we used to receive orders for short-run jobs from our customers. We would accept the jobs and outsource the production. As the volume for short-run jobs started to increase, we decided to have our own digital setup,” Uday Kumar of PrintXpert said.  

The Ricoh C5100s prints documents with up to 1,200x4,800dpi image resolution for professional- grade results taking advantage of its vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) technology for precise reproductions. The printer automatically readjusts paper to align front and back registration for more accurate printing even during longest print runs. It also includes an elastic fusing belt to ensure better, more consistent transfer and toner adhesion on specialty stocks. The Fiery Color Controller E-22B handles most of color management task with ease.

Kumar said with the installation of the Ricoh kit, the company has taken the control of short-run jobs in-house. “Earlier, as we outsourced the job works, reliable quality output, timely delivery and cost were the major challenges,” he said.

Currently, the company is servicing corporates, hotels, etc. “We are now planning to open our doors for walk-in customers. For this, we are adding finishing equipment like cutting machine, binding machine, etc,” Kumar said, adding that the Ricoh can handle all kind of commercial printing applications like brochures, posters, visiting cards, etc.

“The Ricoh Pro C5100S uses proprietary PxP-EQ toner to expand colour density and saturation. As a result, it can deliver brilliant quality colour using a minimal amount of toner. It also continually monitors image quality along with internal and external conditions so you can print highly visible material — including business cards, catalogs, invitations, direct mail and more— with incredible colour clarity and consistency,” he added.

Kumar said the best thing about Ricoh C5100s is that it is connected to internet via Ethernet cable and Ricoh has a tool, @Remote, which monitors the machine automatically. “Order for toner logging happens automatically, as @Remote monitors the machine and checks the toner consumption levels. Ricoh engineer can monitor the machine remotely for any specific error code. If we log a service complaint call to Ricoh Call Center within four hours we get response from Ricoh service personnel,” he said.
