Pradip Bhandari of Bhandari Enterprise said, “The local presence of the sales, application and service team played a huge role in the decision to go with TechNova. Again, the timely supply and availability of the plates are important to us.”

Another reason Bhandari Enterprise went for the Thermostar T9 was that in the CTCP-dominating market, the company wanted to set itself apart and offer quality products to its customers.

Bhandari Enterprise is a process bureau for thermal CTP plates with two units in Kolkata, one in Sealdah and the other in Metiaburuz. It caters to several box-printing customers in Metiabruz and Howrah areas as well as other commercial, publishing and packaging customers.

The company’s total consumption is about 3,000 to 3,500-sqmt per month with a customer base of over 50 to 55 regular customers. It has a team of 10 people to run the business, including designers, imposers, operators, and delivery personnel.

Pradip Bhandari, the owner of the company, looks after the overall business and takes care of sales. His children, Santanu and Tanushree, look after the productions and manage the workflow.

Started in 2014, Bhandari Enterprise used to supply film and processed plates to small printers in Kolkata and Howrah. In the beginning, Bhandari Enterprise used to outsource the finished plates (CTCP; violet; thermal) from several process houses.

In 2023, it installed one Thermoster T9 CTP system in partnership with Sufia Print, a packaging customer of the garment box-making industry. The company fired finished plates on this machine and supplied them to its clients.

Most of its customers are packaging printers who are impressed with thermal plate quality. So, after a year, Bhandari Enterprise decided to add one more CTP device to meet the rising demand. The machine has been installed in the Sealdah area, a printing hub, to cater to its new customer base.

The company has also installed a baking machine to meet the customer requirements of extra-long runs with reprint jobs in packaging and publishing segments.

“As we have installed the machine in the main printing hub of the city, we can deliver the plates almost instantly. With the automation of the software, we can automate the workflow and maximise production,” Bhandari said.

He added, “With this new installation, we hope to increase our production to 5,000-sqmt by 2025. We hope TechNova will support us with on-time supply and maintain the right prices. We are confident that with service support, the machine will run seamlessly.”
