This visit was coordinated by Kamal Chopra, managing director at Foil Printer, Ludhiana, Chairman International Relations and vice president at All India Federation of Master Printers. Chopra said, “BIGC is the world’s largest printing institute and now in India we are cooperating with them for higher education to Indian students.”
As a first initiative, research programmes in printing and packaging, digital multimedia communication field and fine art, will be taken up. Next, students and teachers from both the countries will visit each other under an exchange programme, and lastly, a cross-cultural-oriented Confucius Institute will be set up,” said Chopra.
BIGC has indicated that it will soon invite the three chancellors, scholars, professionals and teachers to visit its campus in Beijing.
During the visit, the BIGC delegation also honoured Chopra for his role in promoting academic collaboration between India and China. The BIGC has awarded honorary professorship at the Institute.
Thanking the BIGC for bestowing the honour, Chopra said, “It’s perhaps for the first time that a printer from India has been awarded a title of honorary professor. It is a great honour.”
