Sandeep Singla, director, BK Print & Pack, said, “We have been using two pre-owned Komori printing presses for the last decade and were happy with the performance along with its production. Thus, it became a natural choice to opt for Komori only when it came to buying a new one. This is our first new printing press.”
He added that the five-colour with coater press enables the company to give its customers high-end printing ideas and innovation options. “Since packaging is the key factor in boosting sales of a product, we want to serve our customers with the best printing quality. Komori is helping us achieve our target owing to its high-end features and technology. Also being capital equipment, after-sales service plays a vital role in its successful installation and training for getting equipped with the advanced features. I, very happily, can say that we had a trouble-free installation, training and after sale service.” he said.
He added, “All machines are good and have one or the other feature. Selection of the same completely depends on one’s individual requirement and experience. Owing to our experience, Komori became our obvious choice.”
Singla said that investment is required to meet the growing innovation and competition in the market. “We are committed to investing as and when it is required to meet the customers’ expectations. We have invested more than Rs 10-crore in this calendar year, including a brand-new Komori, a flute laminator from Suba Solutions and a high-end die-cutting machine,” he said
He added, “In today’s scenario, packaging has become one of the most important aspects of boosting sales. Companies are investing huge amounts in providing the best packaging for their products. So, innovation in high end printing is the key for improving the packaging of a product. This all makes the future of the packaging industry bright be it inner mono cartons or the large shipper cartons.”
Singla’s nephew Sulabh Jindal takes care of this unit. It has now expanded its presence in Punjab’s Derra Bassi region by acquiring Balaji Packaging, a five-ply automatic corrugation plant. The plant was established in 2020 and now, it is a sister concern of BK Print & Pack. It manufactures printed cartons (mono and three-ply) in Haridwar plant, and five-ply master cartons in Dera Bassi plant. The company is planning to double its business by 2024-25 by adding the Komori press.
