BMPA will be completing 60 years of its existence, and as part of its year-long celebration will host Ravan Leela, a riot of laughter, written by Dr Kusum Kumar; and designed and directed by Om Katare of Yatri fame. The play is presently in the 35th year of its production.

“BMPA has planned to host a series of events to mark its 60-year journey,” said Faheem Agboatwala, vice president of BMPA. “Over the last six decades, BMPA has been a constant source of information to the print industry in Mumbai and the 60th anniversary events will be a time when we hope that our members will participate, enjoy as well as educate themselves.” He went on to add, “Although many things have changed over the years, BMPA has always been there for its members, every time.”

The hilarious play is about a village production of Ramleela, which goes horribly wrong when the boisterous Kartar Singh who is playing Raavan refuses to die if his demand of hike in fees is not met. The cast of play: Ashok Sharma,  Om Katare,  Aanand Pandey, Rohit Sharma, Dharmendra, Mukesh Yadav, Prateek Pendharkar, Vaibhav Joshi, Prashant Updhayay, Sanjeev Sharma, Avneesh Paromita Chatterjee, Krunal Shah and Gyaneshwar Popalghat.

BMPA will be issuing complimentary tickets to all members and associate members through a special direct mailer. Seating is restricted to two free entries per member company and is strictly on a first-come basis.

The play will begin at 6.30pm sharp.
