Faheem Agboatwala, vice president of BMPA, said, “A GMP is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. GMP covers all aspects of production from the starting materials, premises and equipment to the training and personal hygiene of staff. Detailed, written procedures are essential for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product.”
“There must be systems to provide documented proof that correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is made. Taking our mission of understanding GMP across other industries we have lined-up a super exclusive plant visit to the auto giant - Mercedes Benz’s (MBIL) factory in Chakan near Pune,” said Agboatwala.
Mercedes-Benz, the German automobile giant, has been associated with India for more than 50 years. The visit will include a guided tour of the Chakan plant along with an opportunity to experience cars from the AMG stable, Mercedes’ high performance car division as well as see the prowess of their off-roaders firsthand.
BMPA has planned to host a series of events to mark its 60-year journey. Over the last six decades, BMPA has been a constant source of information to the print industry in Mumbai and the 60th anniversary events will be a time when we hope that our members will participate, enjoy as well as educate themselves.”
Agboatwala stated, “Although many things have changed over the years, BMPA has always been there for its members, every time.”
The members recently visited Heidelberg in Germany and a few German printing plants to understand good manufacturing practices (GMP) being internationally.
