Five men Bobst army to train printers
The print industry has hailed BMPA's Seekho Aur Samjho (SaS) as "a great example of how print training should be conducted". BMPA has spearheaded this initiative along with SIES (Nerul) and GIPT (CST Station) and of course PrintWeek India. PrintWeek India's technical editor, Rushikesh Aravkar said the full day Bobst seminar was a response to the growing hunger for knowledge in folding carton and packaging applications. These includes, key elements of cost effective productivity, that is, machine condition, make-ready elements, operator skills etc."
BMPA's president Faheem Agboatwala said Bobst was known for its "high-quality solutions" and for "anticipating and meeting the changing needs of its customers". Which is why, this session is "a must attend."
Agboatwala added, "A five member Bobst team will share case studies and training manuals of how the new mid-sized packaging firm should do business – and better leverage its technologies through preventive maintenance in cutting and gluing. We believe this sort of interactive approach will benefit packaging firm workers."
The highlights of full day session on 17 June (Friday) will focus on the basics of die-cutting and need for preventive maintenance during the first half of the day. The second half will have basics of folding which include, gluing and need of preventive maintenance.

Faheem Agboatwala said, "I urge all print CEOs in and around Mumbai to send “at least one” member of staff to the monthly SaS sessions in order to augment the skill sets of a team member."
Incidentally, SaS has signed up with the print technologist and colour expert Kiran Prayagi for 12 sessions, starting October 2016, on colour management lessons in pre-press, pressroom, and post-press areas. The sessions will commence from October 2016.
