Bobst India felicitated its students for the completion of their three-month folder-gluer certification programme. The inaugural training programme was led by Sunil Khodke, manager - training and Ujwal Rao, technical services manager with Bobst.
The felicitation ceremony was held in the presence of Werner Nievergelt and Wilfried Schnider, the consulate generals of Switzerland in Mumbai along with Subhasis Roy, business director, Bobst India and Upendra Deglurkar, president and LE head, Bobst India.
On 1 May 2013, Bobst India started the Bobst School of Converting in Pune, and to begin with, started the three month folder-gluer machine operator training course with an intake capacity of four students. The course was open to employees of Bobst customers as well as fresh ITI passed-out students. Four students working in print-packaging companies as well as ITI pass-out students were inducted into the course.
“Bobst had been toying with the idea of training semi-unskilled workers who were running traditional converting machines in India for some time now and the first-ever folder-gluer training programme is one step towards this idea,” said Roy. He added, “The purpose of doing business is not only for selling machines but also for touching lives and this training programme will go a long way in serving that purpose.”
Nievergelt congratulated the students for completing the course. “You are the ones who stand behind the philosophy of the company,” he said. Additionally, Nievergelt congratulated Bobst India on the robust machines produced by them.
Khodke, the manager for the training course, delivered the vote of thanks. Talking to PrintWeek India about the intake capacity limitation, he said, “We have dedicated one Expertfold for the training at the centre and not more than four can be trained, if proper hands-on training is to be imparted. Our aim is to provide the print-packaging industry with quality workforce.”
The next training course is scheduled to commence from 1 September, 2013.
