In a move to emphasise the critical role of smart technology in driving packaging production success, Bobst is set to highlight its Accuregister system, which the company zone business director BU printing converting - Indian Sub Continent Venugopal.
Menon said, is a “tool, the packaging converters need to thrive in today's competitive market”.
Further, Bobst India is gearing up to showcase the Accuregister on the Novacut 106E die-cutting machine at its open house event, which is slated for October this year at the Bobst India Competence Centre in Pune.
The Accuregister system has undergone nearly 25 years of development and evolution since it was introduced in 2000 as the Power Register system.
Menon said the "no-sheet-edge contact" registration, enabled through high-performance cameras and its sheet correction range, ensures top-tier cut-to-print accuracy and operational flexibility. “With combined automatic lateral pile correction, the system significantly reduces machine stoppages, adding, "Our vision for the future of packaging is one of digitalisation, automation, connectivity, and sustainability, and Accuregister is a pivotal component in achieving this vision."
Menon added that the system's ability to accommodate a diverse range of substrates, from carton and solid board to corrugated board and paper, gives converters flexibility and responsiveness in handling various production tasks.
When discussing the impact of the Accuregister system on production efficiency with PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? magazines ahead of the Open House, Menon highlighted the integration of Accuregister with the Novacut 106 die-cutting machines and the. HMI Sphere interface and how it grants access to the Bobst Connect in automating the machine setup process into an all-in-one digital platform, preserving sheet quality, and reducing stoppages to support sustainable and cost-efficient converting.
“It has the capacity to reduce machine stoppages by up to 80% at critical points in the production process, thereby streamlining operations and enhancing overall productivity.”
Menon added, “Without any contact or pull-push at the platen inlet, the contactless alignment system is also ideal for handling sensitive substrates, such as lighter boards, recycled materials, paper, and shiny or transparent substrates, further expanding the converter's capabilities.
Besides the focus on Accuregister, there are other showcases at the Open House, which Menon said will be made available in due course. “As the industry continues to evolve, Bobst remains at the forefront, leveraging innovation and technology to shape the future of packaging production,” concluded Menon.
