The second Award of the year for Jak Printers comes for Business Magazine and all the four magazines were closely examined and discussed by the judges in great detail. Equipped with a raft of multi-colour presses, in-house pre- and post-press machinery, the Mumbai-based sheetfed specialist’s work on IFJ-41 for Index Media; G2 magazines for Vardhaman; and Art India – Graphic Novels & Comics for Art India Publishing impressed the judges in terms of professionalism and quality.

According to the judges what caught the eyes was that the magazines had a variety of finishing like thermal matt lamination on the IFJ-41; hot foil stamping on the G2; while the Art India magazine had an aqua varnish finishing. There wasn’t the “sameness” to these magazines, said one judge.

The magazines were produced on a Heidelberg GTO F52, a 15x20inch five-colour press and Heidelberg Speedmaster 102S, a 28x40inch six-colour press, utilising the Heidelberg Suprasetter to fire plates and an Epson Stylus Pro 9880 with the EFI XF RIP and Prinect connecting the presses’ workflow.

Operating with a slogan of “making a difference”, the partners, proud winners and “print fanatics” Khushru Patel and Aspi Forbes have recognised Jak’s ingenuity to achieve success and this Award is a testimonial to Jak’s ability to excel.

Jak’s success illustrates the firms technical ability and teamwork, which the Patel and Forbes say enables total customer satisfaction and in turn leads to growth and one time management tip that they give on the shopfloor is: “make sure the docket is perfectly handed over to the shopfloor supervisors”.
