The decision will see the business transfer media and communications brands Kress and PR Report and print brand Druck&Medien to local publisher, Oberauer, with the Druck&Medien Awards merging with Deutscher Drucker’s Printstars scheme.

Oberauer, a leading publisher in the media and communications industry, is based in Salzburg and owned by founder Johann Oberauer. It publishes brands including Medium Magazin and Wirtschaftsjournalist in Germany and related brands in Austria and Switzerland. Oberauer also runs the popular German website newsroom.de, an annual directory of journalists and the European Newspaper Congress. Having recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, Druck&Medien Awards will now become part of the Deutscher Drucker Verlagsgesellschaft. The company based in Ulm is owned by Ebner Group.

The transfer of the brands will also see the closure of Haymarket’s offices in Berlin, Hamburg and Heidelberg.

Kevin Costello, CEO, said: “To drive the long-term growth of our business in Germany, we have decided to focus on the horticulture and floristry brands where we are market-leader. Kress, PR Report and Druck & Medien remain strong businesses in their own right and I believe this transition will better enable them for future success.”

Haymarket Germany will concentrate on its B2B and B2C brands covering horticulture production, services and retail businesses. As part of the TASPO family, acquired in 2005, its B2B brands serve audiences including retail gardeners, garden centres, ornamental plants production, nurseries, cemetery management, contracting and landscaping with a variety of magazines, websites, special and database products.

Suresh Ramakrishnan, publishing director and responsible for the full brand portfolio in India said, "The business transfer ofDruck&Medien in Germany will not affect the operations of PrintWeek India. The print and packaging industry in India is seeing a double digit growth and PrintWeek which was launched in 2008 in India is bullish about the future."
