The Canon C700 new colour production cut-sheet presses features a new toner, laser imaging and colour calibration technology, according to Puneet Datta, the director, professional printing products, "Will bridge the gap between Canon's imageRunner C9000 series, which has a duty cycle of 350,000 A4 pages and a maximum speed of 80ppm, and the imagePress C6011S, which has a duty cycle of 700,000 pages and prints up to 61.7ppm."
The C700 runs at 70ppm and has a duty cycle of 400,000 pages; while the C800 runs at 80ppm.
“Apart from the standard expectation from a machine in this segment, what appealed to us were mainly the smaller footprint of the machine, its capability, bigger print size (up to 13x 24.8-inch), ability to use media with different textures (up to 300gsm) and also much lesser consumption of power,” said Sowrirajan, managing director of Adyar Student Xerox, one of the installations of C700 in Chennai.
The C700/C800 series was launched in September in the presence of 125 print CEOs during a grand get together in Gurgaon.
