Carton inspection system on SLKCG stand to go to TCPL Silvassa

The machine, according to Vinayak Munipally, will be installed at TCPL’s Silvassa plant post-Pamex. This kit will be TCPL’s second such installation, and will be used to produce cigarette cartons. “There are two more in the pipeline,” said Munipally.

 

Munipally said that TCPL will also be adding an inline inter banding machine after sometime.

 

The Star JP420 can inspect at a speed of up to 1.30-lakh cartons per hour and look for print defects; foil and emboss registration and defects; and lamination defects, all at one go. “It’s perhaps the only proven machine that can inspect for defects on metpet,” claimed Munipally.

 

The cameras, Munipally added, can be customised as per the requirement of the customers. “But as a standard, there are two cameras at the top that will look for the whole gamut of defects, plus one at the bottom.” The machine is driven by a software, while can set and save tolerances as desired by the job, and controlled by the operator.

 

Beijing Dehang offers different models of Star carton inspection machine for different sizes and there are over 1,000 machines installed worldwide.

 

Munipally said that the process of print inspection is done at various stages – the pre-press, press and post-press. “Ideally inspection should be done at all the stages to avoid rejections,” he said. “This carton inspection machine is for the last stage, before it is dispatched to the clients.”

 

Munipally concluded, “Besides carton inspection, SLKCG offers inspection solutions for pre-press as well as post-print stages.”
