The device was supplied by Bengaluru-based Bodhi Professional.

Manu Choudhary, owner of the firm, said, "This spectrophotometer device enables press-side sheet scanning for print densities and thereby eliminates the need for time consuming spot reading with hand-held densitometer."

CDC Printers prints about 3.5-lakh sheets a day, consumes over 10,000 plates and 120 tonnes of paper per month. Choudhary said, “Since most of our jobs are short run jobs with run length ranging from 500 to 1000 sheets, by the time we could manually check densities patch by patch more than half of the job would have already been printed. It was a tedious job. With Easytrax, the measurement process has speeden up.”

“Today, we are confident about the colour consistency of the print jobs that we produce,” added Choudhary.

“As colour is a vast subject and also to control it is difficult; especially on high speed presses where an operator cannot rely on his eyes – there should be instrument which measures the colour without fail and hence it’s easy to control and achieve consistency in prints; though you have a high end pre-press its necessary to have a on press colour control system,” added Satish Nayak of Bodhi.

CDC Printers has a four-colour Heidelberg SM 102, a four-colour Heidelberg PM 74 and a four-colour Mitsubishi Diamond 1000 presses with in-house pre-press facilities and support for finishing and binding. It has 85 people on its roster.

Bodhi has acquired marquee customers in East India  such as CDC, Stylo Graphics, ITC, Kalpena Industries, Nextgen Printers, Art Print House among others.
