Chanakya Mudrak and PM Digital bag Scodix Design Award
New Delhi-based Chanakya Mudrak and Chennai-based PM Digital are the two Indian print firms among the 11 winners of Scodix Design Awards. The competition saw the total of over 50 entries submitted across six categories.

Chanakya Mudrak received the award in packaging category for its Orange Box entry while PM Digital’s greetings card was selected as a winner in direct mail category.
While speaking to PrintWeek India, Inder Kumar Arora, director at Chanakya Mudrak said, “We are elated to be honoured with such international recognition. Our award winning print sample was Mother Dairy’s Gulab Jamun carton printed on HP Indigo and finished with silver embellishments done on Scodix.”
Chanakya Mudrak installed Scodix S74 in February 2013 during its transformation phase from being labour intensive to be technology intensive.
“The awards encourages us, it is an indicator that we are on the right track,” said Arora.
PM Digital’s greeting card boasts of the UV enhancements with Scodix S75. It is an interesting job in terms of use of colours and intricate design work.

The jury for the award consisted of five prominent personalities in the field of digital printing namely Ron Glaz, director of Digital Imaging Solutions, IDC; Jim Hamilton, group director, InfoTrends; Vince Mallardi, president, Printing Brokerage/Buyers Association International, Frank Romano, industry guru and professor emeritus in the School of Media Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Tom Zotos, artist, and noted pioneer in the Interpretive Licensed Art Movement.
