The machine is targeted at e-commerce and fulfillment companies, which need to procure and stock multiple size boxes to satisfy varying packaging needs.

Ranesh Bajaj, managing director, Creed Engineers, said, “Generally it is a cumbersome process of packaging, when the size varies for every individual product such as for companies like Amazon and Flipkart.”

CartonWrap produces boxes from corrugated cardboard reel in real time, each one unique to the products being boxed. Bajaj explained, “The real-time format change is managed automatically through product recognition or directly from a database ensuring high flexibility of processing. The machine has high productivity with speeds of up to 10 boxes per minute.”

The system can be expanded to add print units to print any information directly to the box, further allowing each box to be unique. Also labelling systems can be integrated according to shipping method needs.

“Though CartonWrap being a new machine hasn’t seen any installations in India yet, CMC’s other machines have seen 18 installations in India,” concluded Bajaj.
