The Nexus One, has sold more than 130 units worldwide since it was launched in 2004. According to Reifenhauser India, the first optimised Nexus One will be installed in India in a couple of months.
Saravanan Rajamanikam, product manager at Reifenhauser India, said, “The new Nexus One works at a maximum speed of 350 m/min, with a maximum web width of 1330 mm and a reel weight of up to 800 kg and adapts to a maximum rewinding diameter of 850 mm and a maximum tension of 200 N, while for unwinding the diameter is also 850 mm with a maximum tension of 250 N.”
With the new Nexus One laminating machine, Rajamanikam claims, will let converters find four points to highlight above the rest.
“To improve the job quality, the machine includes a laminating unit made up of three rollers that produce even laminating, without air bubbles; a heated steel cylinder, another one with a smaller diameter coated with high density rubber, and a third steel back pressure roller,”
He added, “The metering or dosing roller was also unique in its design, that it allowed the convertor to use a shafted roller with sleeves. This coupled with individual drives for R1, R2, R3 and R4 facilitate fast changeovers, and along with the auto refill system on the mixer, helps eliminate all the typical problems of wastages, pot life issues etc encountered with solvent-less lamination leading to high productivity”.
Rajamanikam said, “Another significant point is the exhaustive web tension control, thanks to the pneumatic compensators/dancers installed in the rewinder and unwinders. These are all actually features of high-end machines, which have now been introduced in a machine of 350 mpm. It is the most flexible and highly engineered machine that is a perfect fit for the Indian markets.”
