Control Print showcases its products at Plastasia 2022
During the Plastasia 2022 show held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 20-23 April, Mumbai-based Control Print showcased its existing products.

Shiva Kabra, joint MD, Control Print, said, “Recently, we reached out to our customers in north and east India and sold our new continuous inkjet printers (CIJ) to a few companies. These machines have our special white colour pigmented ink used for online coding and marking on pipes.”
Kabra added that there are also a few greenfield projects currently under development which would require the company’s solutions in the coming days.
He said Plastasia 2022 has been an ideal place for Control Print to showcase its latest innovations, witness live demonstrations, share ideas and most importantly, secure orders. “This show is important as it provides us with an opportunity to meet local and regional exhibitors, official bodies, chambers and development agencies, as well as the key profile holders from companies and professional visitors gathered all under one roof,” he said.
According to Kabra, in the last couple of years, the packaging industry has become an essential sector in driving technological innovation and growth in the country, as well as adding value to the different manufacturing sectors, including agricultural and FMCG.
The packaging industry is the fifth largest industry in India and is one of the fastest growing sectors. Manufacturing sectors, such as pharmaceuticals, and FMCG sectors, such as packaged food, beverages, functional food and hygiene related products have observed a considerable growth, raising the demand of packaging.
He said the packaging industry in India is expected to register a CAGR of approximately 26.7% during 2022-2027. “In India, there are between 600 and 700 packaging machinery producers, with 85-90% of them being small or medium-sized businesses. The packaging industry in India is predicted to grow at a rate of 18% per year, with flexible packaging growing at a rate of 25% and rigid packaging growing at a rate of 15%. In India, the fastest growing packaging segments include laminates and flexible packaging, especially PET and woven sacks,” he explained.
He added that at Control Print, the industrial segment constitutes 65% of the business whereas the F&B and packaging space constitutes 35% of the business. The company plans to increase the number going forward.
Kabra said Plastasia 2022 helped the company in publicising and displaying its products, innovations, and services, as well as in developing brand image and market leadership. “It was an ideal stage to explore and acknowledge the most recent technologies and trends of the relevant market as well as exhibit a vast range of products and services related to the plastic industry,” he concluded.
