One year prior to the 10 years celebrations, Phillippe Virey, director of Gruppo Cordenons was in Delhi. The self-confessed Inter Milan football club supporter said the Ebitda results were 11.6% for the last quarter in spite of "grim economic scenario in Europe".

The Euros 75 mn Cordenons Group, directed by the Gilberti family for four generations, is an Italian company manufacturer of fine and technical paper, offering over 2,500 specialised products, for target and for application, to the international market.

The most popular product for the Indian market is Natural Evolution.  This fine paper has both paper sides being off-line treated with a special matt coating that allows a high Ink hold out for images with great detail and contrast. The highlights are: soft marked surface, excellent stiffness, and great resistance to creasing and folding. Most of the award winning entries for the Printweek India Awards is produced on this grade. This includes applications like:  catalogues, calendars, magazine covers, annual reports, display boxes and others.

Virey said "Paper is everywhere". He explained how brands are adding value to their products through Cordenons in order to be distinguishable. He mentioned how Cordenons has partnered with Godrej for 21 years for The GoodNight range of products.

In September 2012, Cordenons and Sona has celebrated their eight years of togetherness with the launch of two paper grades: Wild and Art Nouveau.

Virey spoke about the 350-year old company's commitment of creating high quality, fine Italian paper for the Indian market.

Gruppo Cordenons includes two paper mills in Italy. Both mills have been producing paper with a reputation for excellence, for centuries. Virey concluded, "The Cordenons mill continued its reputation of producing the highest quality fine paper for centuries when, in 1984, the mill was purchased by its current owners, the Gilberti family. India is a big developing market for us. "
