Faridabad-based APL Machinery, the Indian representative of AMS, will also be present at the show.

CP Paul of APL Machinery said, “We are projecting double digit installations in the coming year for LED UV. It is the future of printing. Our aim is to make the industry a better place with better technology.”

At Drupa 2016, AMS plans to commercialise a blended wavelength series LED module called MultiWave LED-UV. The system features a uniform blend of Wide Spectrum UV and LED wavelengths at equivalent power levels, and with a performance range designed for compatibility with many existing UV photoinitiator packages, including low-migration formulas. This development, according to the company means that the “ink prices for LED curing can now be similar to those of existing high quality UV inks”.

The company will also introduce a new low-profile LED module, called the XD Series, which is aimed at space-restricted machines which can be easily converted to LED printing. XD is an LED printing solution for printers who operate 520mm (20-inch) format machines with low pile designs from different manufacturers.

AMS will further unveil an extendable, high-power Air-Cooled LED UV architecture; known as the X-AIR Series. The system is designed for machines and applications where air cooling can be realised into the space of the machine. The modules, will offer a central connection to a blower manifold instead of relying on a series of onboard fans, which take up space and can lead to maintenance issues.

AMS will showcase all of its products, as well as numerous examples of LED UV printed quality, substrate variations, special effects and customer successes at its 115 sq/m stand in Hall 14, Booth 71.

OTHER LED UV TECHNOLOGIES AT DRUPA
1. UK-based GEW will display its range of UV curing systems comprising mercury arc systems, LED systems, and hybrid system. The focus of GEW’s presence at Drupa will be the latest version of its NUVA2, a versatile fully air cooled UV system for applications in the printing, coating, and converting industries.

2. Germany-based IST METZ will display a range of UV systems from its portfolio. The firm will be showing the practical application of its systems on a printing press on its stand, demonstrating the use of UV lamp systems for printing packaging and UV LED systems for commercial printing on a Heidelberg SM XL75. According to the company, the system equips its UV units in such a way that they can be switched to operate either with UV lamps or with UV LEDs.

3. Germany- based Heraeus Noblelight will premiere Semray®, the UV LED plug and play solution for innovative and efficient curing processes at Drupa 2016. According to the company, the LED system is versatile applicable and fulfills many different curing process requirements, without sacrificing quality and performance.

Drupa 2016 will take place from 31 May to 10 June 2016 at Dusseldorf, Germany. PrintWeek India is a cooperating media partner at the show. The team led by Noel D’cunha, Rushikesh Aravkar and Monica Rohra will be present on all days of the show.
