Countdown to Drupa: Fujifilm's Drupa focus is the Jet Press and Acuity
Fujifilm will have its main stand in Hall 8b, alongside partner Heidelberg in Hall 1. The two stand outs at the stall are: the Jet Press 720 B2 digital inkjet press, the second generation of the 720 press first which was first announced at Drupa 2008. And the LED UV Acuity 3200R which joins the Fujifilm range of Acuity LED printers. , Business

The Jet Press 720 is a B2-plus format single-sided digital inkjet press, for sheets up to 750x532mm. It prints on standard litho papers thanks to an inline coating that reacts with the ink. Fuji claims the quality is better than litho or any other “paper-based digital process”.
As with the original Jet Press 720, the 8m-long 720S is based on a modified litho press chassis built by Ryobi.
The LED UV Acuity 3200R is part of the Acuity family which includes the Acuity LED 1600 II UV, launched in 2015, and the Acuity LED 1600, launched in 2012. It will be shown for the first time at Drupa on the Fujifilm stand and will be its only new wide-format product on display.
Interestingly enough, the Fujifilm demo centre in Mumbai houses the Acuity LED 1600, Acuity Advance Select and Acuity EY wide format printers at the demo centre. This UV inkjet technology-based printers can print on a range of rigid and flexible media for different types of application.
The 3200R builds on the success of the 1600 range which is being demonstrated at the Fufilm demo centre but with extended print width and increased print speeds. It has been in production for about a year.
The machine, according to a Fujilfilm press release "can handle two reels simultaneously to a weight of 100kg and has a top speed of 110sqm/hr. It has eight ink channels as standard: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan, light magenta, white and clear, which utilise Fujifilm's Uvijet ink range to reproduce colours and gradations. The instant-curing UV inks allow for multi-layer printing and the clear ink means high-gloss spot varnish effects can be created."
LED curing has been one of the main success stories of the 1600 series. Morgan said: "One of the main benefits is the LED curing. Very few LED lights are ever changed, we know that from the LED 1600. Most people are using the same set-up they bought years ago, so it provides a very economic way of printing."
About eight to 10 machines will be manufactured to be shown on the Drupa stand, before the model is rolled out for commerical use around July.
Fujifilm has two addresses at Drupa 2016, a 2,020 sq/m stall in Hall 8B and a smaller stall in Hall 1.
Drupa 2016 will take place from 31 May to 10 June 2016 at Dusseldorf, Germany. PrintWeek India is a cooperating media partner at the show. The team led by Noel D’cunha, Rushikesh Aravkar and Monica Rohra will be present on all days of the show.
