The company, which specialises in folding cartons for the textile market, invested in a pre-owned Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 six-colour press with a coating unit last year in order to boost capacity. It has been using Excel Machinery’s Maxima die-cutting machine for the post-production process.
Kondaiah Chowdary, CEO of Creative Print & Pack, said, “We wanted to enhance our die-cutting operation with additional capacity and better automation. The Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutter has a right set of automation features that we wanted to improve productivity.”
Chowdary claimed that the installation of Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutter has doubled its production capacity and has also aided its venture into FMCG and pharma space.
Chowdary explained, “The stripping station allows for internal waste, lateral edges and the rear edge to be mechanically removed. It also has a provision for fine adjustment for thin cutting plates and motorised adjustment of cutting pressure up to 260 tonnes. All this adds to productivity and efficiency.”
Vemula Chakrapani, region sales manager, Heidelberg for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, said, “The Easymatrix 106 CS is a value addition for printers looking to bring die-cutting and embossing operations in-house, instead of outsourcing these activities. The machine can process high-quality foil, plastic and cardboard substrates with at a maximum speed of 7,700 sheets per hour. It can handle stock thickness from 0.1-mm to 2-mm and corrugated board up to 4-mm without any changes in the feeder.”
Creative Print & Pack’s clientele includes Izod, Levis, Puma, Rockstar, Superdry, Jockey and Van Heusen among the upscale brands.
