Chennai rules with 50 CTP units. Coimbatore has eight and Sivakasi has six thermal CTP platesetters which include installs at Srinivas Fine Arts, Lovely Offset and Orient Press.

The Tamil Nadu (TN) installations are: Madurai (Suprasetter 105 at Thee Classic and a refurbished 4300 Platerite Screen at Vinayaga Screens), Salem (FFEI 8-up at Srivari Graphic), Tirupur (Screen Platerite at Royal Process) and Kumbakonam (Dotline 8-up at Nadar Press).

A Dhanasekaran of Safire Industries, a major print company in TN said: "CTP fulfills the need of printers in TN who want to improve their market share."

Madurai, Salem and Tirupur consume 1,500 sq/mtrs of CTP plates. Coimbatore consumes 10,000 sq/mtrs. Surprisingly Karur consumes 800 sq/mtrs of CTP plates in spite of not having a CTP installation.
