Kant Dabholkar was felicitated by late VG Joshi of Chitrashala Trust, for his contribution to the print industry at PVG's College of Engineering and Technology in Pune., Associations
At the event addressing the students, Kant Dabholkar, founder president, Pune Photolithographers’ Association, said, “Make every effort to get the best knowledge and experience so that you will have a bright future. It has been stated that print is dead but it’s incorrect. Print is very much alive and doing better than most other industries.”
Dabholkar: Print is alive
Dabholkar, said, “The digital printing is going to change significantly. It is a hybrid between traditional offset printing and online publishing. It’s the best of both worlds—the speed and accessibility of the digital realm married with the tangibility and permanence of the printed realm. The digital will not disappear and nor will the conventional print.”
During the event, Dabholkar highlighted the upon letterpress printing of Gutenberg bible: The first ever book printer in bulk.
Chitrashala Press awarded scholarships to 17 students of BE Printing and Diploma in Printing at the PVG’s College. Mandar Joglekar of Book Ganga and International Book House and Kant Dabholkar, a veteran of the print industry, were the chief guest and the guest of honour.
The trust, every year, awards scholarship to ten students and facilitates a print personality in the memory of late VG Joshi, the owner of Chitrashala Printing Press, who passed away on 17 March 1944.
