The three-year old initiative by the Dainik Bhaskar group is an attempt to, as Prasoon Pandey, head- investor relation and media relation said, "curate excellence in print medium." The annual compilation is curated by afaqs!, a advertising, media and marketing portal.
The collector's item brings to fore the best creatives, great writing and the many possibilities of the print medium. "Today print medium is looked upon as a less motivating medium. Creative teams are more focused on TV or the digital medium for expressing their ideas. Therefore it is important to motivate young talent to stay connected with print medium and with Mosaic we intend to do exactly the same," said Pandey.
Printed at NCR-based M P Printers, the book has a print run of 1000-2500 copies each year.
During the launch of the annual compilation in 2012, Sudhir Agarwal, MD, D B Corp said, "This one of its kind compilation brings together the best creatives plus an added feature of the national creative directors commenting on what made them choose the creatives as their best, As a leading national media organisation, we are proud to co-created Mosaic. It illustrates the way the print medium has been used with a significant impact to deliver on brand promise and is a ready reference for professionals practicing the art for the possibilities in print category."
