Dainik Jagran to run on ppi Media workflow solution from 2016

One of the largest selling dailies in India, Dainik Jagran, boasting more than 56 million readers and 231 local editions, is all set to step up its efficiency in news publication with the workflow solution from ppi Media. The software developer from Hamburg will supply the Jagran Group with its workflow solution for newspaper production. This publishing software from Germany streamlines and optimises complicated processes.

“The need of hour is a reliable workflow suited for a multi-edition and multi-centre working, which delivers accuracy and speed. Working simultaneously on page (editorial) and advertisement / scheduling for placement of content and advertisements and support of page planning with central approach are some of its key features. Among some workflows tested, ppi Media with its complete workflow solution was the preferred choice,” said Sandeep Gupta, executive president of Jagran Prakashan.
 
The media house, which distributes newspapers in 11 states in India, has decided to go with ppi Media’s print production solutions, including PlanPag for planning and production, AdX Print, AdPag and AdMan for ad solutions, ProPag for automatic page assembly, as well as to supplement for InLink and DistEl.

The project officially kicked off in February 2015 when ppi Media set up the initial systems in Jagran’s publishing houses. The first modules are scheduled to go live in October 2015 and all work will be completed by Q1 2016.

Apart from Dainik Jagran, the media conglomerate’s flagship newspaper in Hindi, its English newspaper Mid Day, published from Mumbai, and its local editions will also be running ppi Media workflow solutions as of 2016.
 
A major player in Indian newspaper market, Dainik Jagran prints dailies in several languages, Hindi (Dainik Jagran, Nai Dunia, Nav Dunia), Urdu (Inquilab), Gujarati (Gujarati Midday), English (Mid Day), Punjabi (Punjabi Jagran) and a compact bi-lingual (Hindi and English) paper (iNext). It also has its presence in magazines, radio, internet, below-the-line-marketing and mobile value-added services.
