Last day Ajanta’s three kit buy a perfect icing on the Grafotronic’s inkjet press launch

Mattias Malmqvist, vice president of Sweden-based Grafotronic, was more than willing to demonstrate the capabilities of the new four-colour bi-directional inkjet press, made in collaboration with Masterprint Europe to the PrintWeek India team. The reason: Grafotronic’s Indian representative Global Graphics Machineries had clinched an order for three sale of Grafotronic 440 HI slitter/rewinder at Labelexpo Europe to Ajanta Packaging, which will be installed at the company’s Baddi plan

This is Ajanta’s fourth 440 HI machine, with the last one installed a year ago, at the Baddi plant.  The Ajanta Packaging machines will be equipped with the Grafotronic semi-automatic turret rewinder which has been installed previously in more than 100 machines.

According to Malmqvist, this prestigious repeat order his company’s slitter/ rewinder/ inspection machines have been very well received in the northern region. “To get this kind of recognition from one of the most important players is very pleasing and shows that we have the right product,” said Malmqvist.

Naalin Sharma of Global Graphics adds, “The uniqueness of the Grafotronic HI series is their ergonomic design wherein the inspection system is mounted below the working table. Apart from the semi-turret, we offered some well designed functionalities on the Grafotronic HI to Ajanta which makes these machines more purposeful.”

Coming back to the new launch, the new inkjet press includes the new designed inkjet module, two flexo units for priming and varnishing and a combined semi-rotary/rotary die cutting unit. Each module is servo driven, works independently and has the option of adding extra units later on for new products such as lamination, inspection, sheeting etc. After the last label in the sequence is printed and dried, the web moves back and positions the label with the tolerance of 0.20 mm.

“We are confident that this product will significantly increase productivity for any label printing company,” concluded Malmqvist.
