Where are you now and what can you see?
Today, at this moment (9 am), I'm at my daughter, Anushree's singing competition and we are cheering the team. I can see a lot of potential and energy flowing around, which affirms my belief that, youth is the future and we have to channelise their thoughts in the right direction.
What are you currently printing?
I am currently printing the paper sample book (Swatch book) for Kyoorious Paper, who is introducing new papers this month.
Choose a favourite print job / author and say why you admire it.
A religious being, I have always encouraged the printing of religious posters and books. We are the official printers for Pandharpur Pratishthaan, thanks to my friend Mr Jayendra. My favorite print job is the B2 size posters printed of Lord Vitthala and Rukhmini. They are 'sunder' and the amazing photography by Jayendra makes the print look even better. Also, I would like to extend an invitation to all to collect a copy of the same from the press. I believe that if one prints a job with 'tan, mann and dhan', it definitely results in a beautiful creation and that is what a 'mudrak' has to look forward to.
Describe your office.
A 1982 vintage design, which I am disallowed to redesign by my dad. He says, "Kya zarrurat hai? Achhe printing aur yeh office ka kya sambandh hai?!!" (What is the need for redesigning? What has the office to do with good print quality?) Thus stating that the office design is secondary to a well printed job. By the by, the best thing in my office is the 1992 O'General air conditioner, come experience it!!!
Which is your favorite equipment in the unit? And why?
BasysPrint 851 series. It is a myth that one needs digital plates for good quality. I think 98% of the Indian print fraternity prints max 200lpi / 2400dpi day in and day out, for which, one does not need expensive digital plate input! We have saved a huge amount of money with this equipment. CTCTP is a reliable, affordable and rugged technology!! Most importantly, it mints money for you, the reason for you to be in the business!
Which famous person would you like to print a job for? And why?
Harsha Paruchuri of Pragati! He is Dronacharya for me. There is a lot to learn from him. I owe my knowledge of print to him.
