IPAMA has already started booking space for PrintPack India 2017, and according to Prashant Vats, executive secretary, IPAMA, the response from the industry has been overwhelming. “Within 20 days of opening our bookings, we already have booked 5,121 sq/mt area,” said Vats.
The early birds of more than 66 exhibitors includes high profile exhibitors like Provin Technos, APL Machinery, Pressline India, Falcon Vacuum Pumps & Systems, Memory Repro Systems, Sheth Printograph, Joy D-Zign Engineers, Prakash Offset Machinery, Insight Communication & Print Solution India, Malhotra Graphics, Line O Matic, Muller Martini, Sodhisons Mechanical Works, and Sona Commercial, among others.
The last edition of the show had total 411 exhibitors. “This time around, we hope to host around 500 exhibitors,” Vats said. This is an achievable goal considering the growth the exhibition has been witnessing over the years. For example, during PrintPack 2013, the number was 345.
Vats said the 2017 edition of the show will also be bigger in terms of number of expected visitor footfall, net exhibition space and business generated. “The projected figure for visitor footfall for PrintPack 2017 is 100,000,” said Vats. During PrintPack 2015, the number was 85,000. The number in 2013 was 70,000.
Businesswise, IPAMA hopes to generate USD 350 million in 2017. During PrintPack 2015, the exhibition generated business worth USD 290 million. In 2013, the number was USD 230 million.
In 2017, the net area for exhibitors will increase to 21,000 sq/mt from 18,647 sq/mt in 2015. The exhibition size was 13,871 sq/mt in 2013. Vats said at PrintPack 2017, a permanent structure would be provided to all exhibitors at the venue, instead of hangers for some of the exhibitors, which was the case in 2015. A new exhibition space has come up next to the original venue at India Expo Centre and IPAMA has booked this space as well.
So far, IPAMA is relying on phone calls and emailers to promote the exhibition. Vats said from May-June 2016 the organiser would start aggressive campaigns like press conferences and road shows to promote PrintPack 2017.
