Mumbai-based DDB Mudra won the Silver Spike for its innovative and adapted use of print & publishing for π¨ πΊπππππ πππππ for the Charlie Chaplin Museum Foundation.

16 April 2022 was the 133rd birth anniversary of Charlie Chaplin. The Charlie Chaplin Museum Foundation every year. However, after what the world has gone through in the last couple of years, the foundation wanted to do more than just celebrate the great man’s life. They wanted to use his life to inspire many others.
DDB Mudra decided to celebrate the strife that the Little Tramp had gone through in his life. To illustrate that it doesn’t matter how many times you slip on life’s banana peel. What matters is how many times you get up.
π¨ πΊπππππ πππππ is a one-of-a-kind book printed on transparent sheets. Each page brought to life a grueling chapter from Chaplin’s life, through beautiful line-art illustrations. And when these pages staked together, they formed the visage of the world’s most-loved comic. A precise production process was used marrying traditional screen printing on thin, anti-scratch acrylic sheets with an amalgamation of die-cut and lay-flat bookbinding.
The book was launched by Chaplin’s son, Eugene Chaplin, on 16 April 2022.
Leo Burnett India also won two Grands Prix at Spikes Asia 2023. The wins came for Whisper’s The Missing Chapter and Oreo’s '#BringBack2011. The gold wins in the Healthcare, Social and Influencer categories converted to the big prize.
“Across the Awards, we have seen some truly inspiring work, which presents a fascinating insight into the creative landscape today, as well as the direction the industry is heading in,” said Jenny Lau, events director at Spikes Asia.
