“We were not happy with our existing India-made machine. I tried different options, but none could give us committed speed and durability of machine as Bobst do,” Singh said.
He added that since the installation of the machine, in the last six months, the company has witnessed a clear improvement in speed and output.
Now, JK Print Pack is targeting to replace its old machines, and also expecting maximum ROI to be in less than three years as per the company production schedule.
A sister unit of Mankind pharma group, established in 1989 as a pharmaceutical manufacturer, JK Print Pack supplies to its own companies. Around 400 people work at the company shopfloor, which houses pre-owned Heidelberg 20x30-inches kits. Singh said the company is now moving towards 28x40-inches format with new machines.
Talking about challenges in packaging, Singh said that customers are more focused on cost but they forget about quality. “The future is going to be more cost competitive betterment in quality is must with higher speed of production,” he added.
