Delhi printers meet chief minister Kejriwal to redress their issues

On occasion of the summit on ‘Ease of doing business – unfinished agenda’, a delegation of the Delhi Printers’ Association (DPA) met Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal at Hotel Le Meridian on 15 September, 2015 to hand over a memorandum listing the problems faced by the members of the association.

The delegation comprised, president of the association OP Dewan, general secretary Sunil Jain, treasurer Rajiv Gupta, joint secretary Ashok Kumar Nandra, and former presidents Raj Kumar Arya and Deepak Arora.

Calling the summit, an effort to highlight various proactive measures and industry-friendly initiatives introduced by the Delhi government, Kejriwal said the structured reforms would lead to ease of doing business in Delhi and adjoining areas. He added that his government is fully committed to providing conducive business environment and also improving civic amenities, law and order, safety and security of woman, transportation and power supply, among others.

Despite his busy schedule, the chief minister received the DPA memorandum, which highlights the different issues the city’s printers are facing, such as, closure/sealing notices, issues of pollution, roads and other infrastructural deficiencies, MSME registration as well as the age-old Press and Registration of Book Act, 1867.

The chief minister assured that he would look into the problems of the printers and provide necessary redressal.

DPA wants printing presses of Delhi in ‘green category’

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Delhi Printers’ Association met the Minister of Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi Mohd Aseem Ahmed Khan in the Secretariat on 5 October 2015 to seek his intervention for restoration of printing presses of Delhi in ‘green category’ from ‘orange category’.

Khan assured the delegation that he would review the entire issue in the light of facts submitted by the association.

The delegation comprised OP Dewan (president), Sunil Jain (general secretary), and Kewal Kishan (vice-president), under the guidance of former presidents Vijay Mohan, Mukesh Kaushik, Badri Kumar Singh and Deepak Arora.
