The printing press is also equipped with fan out adjustment device, tape inserter and print job manager software.

Established in 1985 by Sanjay Sehgal, the company is into the production of notebooks and diaries under the brand name Cuckoo. It also prints children’s books.

Within 45 days after the installation of the RMGT, SPP has already printed around 14 lakh of sheets.

“Our main focus is notebooks manufacturing as opposed to diaries. Diary is a seasonal business while notebooks are always in demand. Along with manufacturing of notebooks and diaries, we are also planning to target commercial printing market. Our four colour printing press can print our entire requirement,” Sehgal said.

The RMGT at SPP a fully loaded press equipped with automatic blanket wash, automatic ink roller wash, CIP4 workflow software, semi-automatic plate change system, automatic roller nip check mode and automatic maintenance mode for greasing.

“It takes two minutes to convert the perfector to straight printing press because of its automatic perfecting switchover. Makeready is faster due to more automatic features. Auto roller nip check mode helps improve printing quality. As against manual nip setting, which takes 30 to 40 minutes, it takes just two to three minutes,” he added.

Sehgal said the company has a complete in-house setup, from design to the final product. “The new press enables us to do jobs faster and better. Thus, we can now go for different segments,” said added.

SPP consumes around 300 thermal plates and 20 tonnes of paper in daily operation. The in-house Kodak Trendsetter 800 exposes plates supplied by TechNova.
