Although the company believes that PrintPack is a show mainly focused on the offset machine manufacturers, the company feels that it might be a good platform for launching innovative machines.
Mohan KT of UV Printers, believes that in the tough times when the raw material costs and shortages have been troubling the industry, a move towards digitisation is a good strategy that printers should adopt to manage costs and shortages. “In the next few years, we would be launching a UV label printer and a 10-inch UV roll-to-roll printer with a maximum printing speed of 1,500sq/ft per hour.
Mohan also sounded little sceptical about the show this year. Talking about the show, he said, “Organisers are getting space at lesser amount but the exhibitors are paying rent similar to what they used to pay in Pragati Maidan. We have been participating in other exhibitions like MediaExpo and Glass Tech, where payments were much less. In addition, commuting to the venue and accommodation will put an extra burden of Rs 75,000 on the exhibitors and visitors.”
