Dot Digital invests in Zund G3 cutting machine
Mumbai-based Dot Digital has invested Rs 1.25-crore in a new Zund G3 L2500, as it continues to expand its bouquet of offerings by including niche print related business in the interior designing, point-of-purchase (POP), architectural, restaurants and hotel sectors. The new kit was installed two months ago.

Dot, which began its operation serving the advertising industry in 1995, moved to wide-format printing, adding two HP XL 1500, a HP 2300, an HP Latex 850 and Spider, an HP Inkjet 5500 and a Fujifilm press, over the years.
Suresh Shetty, managing director at Dot, said, “We are all set to create a niche market that needed us to be armed with a digital cutting machine. We looked at new options in the market that could fit our requirement of accurately cutting substrates other than acrylic and medium-density fiber and sun boards.”
Shetty, shared, “We visited companies and saw the demonstration as well. After a lot of contemplation, we zeroed down on the Zund digital cutting machine.”
The Zund G3 L2500 is built on a modular platform, which is one of the highlights of the machine. “This means that we can buy the base machine depending upon our investment levels and later on upgrade the same machine to suit our requirements. With Zund G3 series, we can cater to glass display, lenticular and also showroom window display segments,” said Shetty.
But what clinched the deal for Zund was the width of 96-inch and speeds of up to 1.4 mts/sec, which will help bring down Dot’s lead time of manufacture to delivery. “Today, the clients need deliveries of the products on immediate basis. The machine is not only fast and accurate, the overall time taken from starting the job till the finish, is substantially less,” said Shetty.
Some of the Rs 12.5-crore company’s key clients are Star TV, Trent Landmark and Times Network. The company's employee strength of 75 persons operates in the 8,000 sq/ft office and production unit in Kandivali.
