Drinktec to focus on liquid food industry from 7 December
Drinktec, organised by Drink Technology India is scheduled for 7 to 9 December at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The show will showcase 300+ exhibitors from the Indian beverage and liquid-food market.

The Indian soft drinks industry notched up USD 4,932m in 2021. The soft drinks industry in India is expected to grow annually by 9.0% (CAGR 2021-2025). The revenue in the juice segment reached USD 2,323m in 2021. Liquid Food (vinegar, mustard, ketchup or soya products). In global comparison, most revenue was generated in India (USD 22,040m in 2021).
In addition to the soft drinks and juice market, the India edible oil market witnessed a CAGR of 8.75% by revenue and 9.88% by volume during the forecast years of 2019–2025. Today India is the largest importer of palm oil in the world. The government has raised import tax on crude palm oil to 44% from 37.5% in an attempt to boost local oilseed production. The oleochemicals market in India is forecast to surpass USD 2.6 billion by 2025. Beer is globally the third most popular drink after water and tea. The beer industry is on the rise according to the craft beer hype. Craft beer has boosted the business of microbreweries in India.
Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe München India said: “India is huge, and the regions differ substantially. Not only from a geographical or ecological point of view, but also with regard to the core beverage and liquid food industries in these regions.” This is why DTI takes place in the metropolitan regions of Mumbai and New Delhi.

The growth of the trade fair reflects the dynamic development of the Indian beverage and liquid food market. Whether it is soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, dairy products or edible oil: According to the VDMA Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association, the total demand for beverages is expected to increase by about 89% until 2022. That is from more than 27 billion litres in 2017 to over 50 billion litres. In order to meet the demand and continue to grow, Indian companies require appropriate machinery for the production, processing and packaging of beverages and liquid food. DTI plays a central role here and provides numerous impulses for investment in the growth industries.
