The Komori J-throne 29 is capable of operating at the print speed of 6,000-sph in single-sided printing mode

The new 29-inch sheetfed UV inkjet digital press is the latest addition to the company’s digital portfolio which already consists of Impremia IS29s, a 29-inch sheetfed UV inkjet digital printing system and Impremia NS40, a 40-inch sheetfed nanographic printing system.

This newly engineered Komori J-throne 29 is capable of operating at a print speed of 6,000-sph in single-sided printing mode, marking the fastest speed ever produced by a B2+ size inkjet press. In double-sided printing, it is capable of delivering 3,000-sph using the high-precision perfecting mechanism based on Komori’s 100-year journey of expertise in offset press technology.

Komori J-throne 29’s imaging technology incorporates Komori’s proprietary image-forming technology. In addition, this newly engineered digital press, using KOMORI’s newly developed UV inks with LED curing, has additional printing capability on a broad range of substrates, viz. coated and uncoated papers and paperboards without pre-treating, making it an ideal digital press for commercial, packaging, and speciality printing markets.

When it comes to considering some specific advanced and versatile features and capacity of Komori J-throne 29, this newly developed digital press boasts a handful of added advantages over other systems in its class. It is designed to print high-quality graphic prints in a resolution of 1,200-dpi.

Komori J-throne 29 can take in sheets up to 23×29.5-inch and thicknesses ranging from 0.06- to 0.6-mm in the single-sided mode and 0.06- to 0.45-mm in the double-sided mode. Only in duplex mode, it can take in sheets up to 0.45-mm.

In a way, the J-throne is a timely invention from Komori to fulfil the increasing demands for the ever-growing digital inkjet printing applications in the sector. Printing businesses have experienced a significant shift because of the expanding possibilities of digital printing. According to Straight Research reports, the global inkjet printing market size is estimated to reach USD 192.40-billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 8.40%.

“Amid this excitement around the return of Drupa after an eight-year hiatus, it is yet another equal excitement for Komori to unveil the newly developed J-throne 29 at the world’s number one trade fair for printing,” Jitender Rohilla, general manager, sales, Komori India, said.

Komori’s theme at Drupa 2024 will be 'Connected Automation,' signifying the company’s expertise in offset, digital, and post-press categories and the technology to connect them all.
