“PrintPack India is the first major exhibition in Asia. Customary to the previous editions, we expect this edition of the show to have a great impact on our business. We plan to launch several new products during the show and hope that the event will feed our business quality leads for years to come,” said Vimal Jain of Grafik Machinery.

“The environment at the India Exposition Centre, Greater Noida, is apt to organise an industrial fair. In my opinion, now the Pragati Maidan is best for the shows of consumer goods. If we can go to Drupa, why can’t we take a small ride up to Greater Noida for the Asia's biggest industrial show?” he questioned.

At PrintPack India, the company will be displaying its coating solutions like 'print plus coat', roller coater, UV curing system including inter-deck UV, carton folder gluers, window patching machine and liner carton machine.  Jain states that several of these machines are inspired from the recent developments showcased at Drupa.

“Certainly Drupa shows us a path but unfortunately the cost of capital goods showcased at the show is very high and can be afforded by only a marginal section of our industry. Considering this factor we are trying to produce similar type of indigenous machine at very moderate prices so that the state-of-the art technology would be at a hand’s reach to the majority of printing and packaging companies in India,” Jain said.

The company has been synergising its energies on developing indigenous machinery to foster the demand for upgraded technology in the industry. “In the next five years, we are going to introduce few packaging machines, which are either not produced in India or mostly ignored; thus creating greater dependence on Chinese make machine,” he said.

Jain feels that post-press machine manufacturers have been driving a wave of automation at a considerable lower capital investment in the packaging and print industry in India. In addition, he believes that this trend will further feed the possibilities arising from the introduction of FDI in retail.
