Durst India ventures into wide-format
Durst, a world-leading manufacturer of advanced digital production technologies, has decided to venture into the wide-format market in India. Vivek Singh of Durst India said while there are more than eight industrial wide-format printers from Durst running in India for the last 10 years, those machines were purchased directly from Italy, not through Durst India. Now, Singh said the company’s wide-format segment is being handled directly by Durst India.

“Durst India has started its operation in 2012 with ceramic. After we were established, we entered into the textile segment and now is the right time to enter into the wide-format segment,” Singh said.
In the wide-format segment, Singh said, the company has different options with UV/LED in roll-to-roll and for rigid body substrate with different print width up to 5-m. “The Durst printer has its unbeatable productivity along with unmatched print quality,” he said.
Giving three reasons why an Indian wide-format printer should invest in a Durst machine, Singh said, “One, the Indian signage market is entering high productivity range, two, the Indian market has started following the pollution norms set globally as use of solvent and eco-solvents machines are being discouraged, and three, Durst is synonymous with quality printing and unbeatable productivity.”
Singh said wide-format will be an independent segment for Durst India and will be an add-on vertical for the company.
