The four-day show is the third show, since its debut in 2009, will see 75+ exhibitors showcase their products across 1,200 sq/mtrs in two halls. As part of the EPP, the WBMPA will also host a seminar on Global Vision in an adjacent hall.
The objective of hosting a print show in Kolkata is to provide an opportunity to those print companies in far flung areas of the eastern region of India, to come and witness some of the latest print and allied machinery as well as a new perspective on key trends in print, said Bikash Sarker. According to the WBMPA, there are around 500+ printers in Kolkata and 1000+ in the region.
“These printers do not have the time and scope of visiting large shows like Drupa, Print China or even PrintPack India. EPP provides the printers from this side of India an opportunity to understand what’s happening in the industry.” Sarker added, “The seminar on Global Vision will complement our vision of providing the visitors and participants with the latest trends in the printing industry.
Among the exhibitors, Ricoh, will be present with the biggest stall. Other exhibitors like Canon, Monotech, TechNova, Graphica, Pratham, to name a few will also be present.
Ricoh is poised to give two products an India launch. The new presses are the Ricoh Pro C7100x, the new digital printing press with a 5th station for white or clear toner; and a Latex press, Pro 4160, its first wide-format press. “There another big announcement we will make tomorrow, and it will be a game changer,” said Avijit Mukherjee, COO, PP-BU for Ricoh India, who was present supervising the preparation at the stand. “We will be introducing a new alternative to click-charges,” he said.
TechNova will bring its new launch SmartJet at the show along with the Duplo, its range of CTP, plates and other solutions at the show.
According to the WBMPA, there are around 500+ printers in Kolkata and 1000+ registered printers in the region.
