Besides, the presses at Uflex, Edale flexo presses are installed at NAP in Kolkata and Itek Packz in Bengaluru. PSC has also installed an Edale flexo press at Sprint Packaging in Nepal.
At the Labelexpo, the UK-based flexo press manufacturer announced new automation package for its FL3 flexo press. It included the autonomous inking, impression and registration (AiiR) system, which, Edale claimed, allows the press to set the printing functions with operator adjustment.
Amitabh Luthra, managing director at PSC claimed that the FL3 is the most automated flexo press on display at the show. “The operator has to just change the print cylinders and hit the press button. The Edale software and the AVT camera technology takes over the control of the press, including a 100% inspection feature.”
The FL3 is capable of running any substrate from 12 to 450 microns. The press on display has a Graphium digital head, a six-colour digital unit developed by FFEI; and an Edale EFX Print Bar for UV inkjet spot varnish. “The EFX is an exciting digital embellishment solution. It will reduce set-up times and since it is digital, it makes printing variable data unique,” said Luthra.
