EFI’s first quarter revenue spike and an offer of free trip to Drupa

Print technology developer, EFI has continued its ardour for success as the company reported a 20% gain in earnings and a rise in non-GAAP operating income over previous year’s corresponding period., Business

According to Guy Gecht, CEO at EFI, the solid performance across the EFI portfolio, was led by good growth in its industrial inkjet segment.

The first quarter saw EFI’s earning rise from USD 194-mn to USD 234-mn while the non-GAAP income hit a high of USD-33mn compared to last year’s USD 28.3-mn in the first quarter of 2015.

EFI’s industrial inkjet business generated revenue of USD 125.8-mn (+44% YoY), productivity software USD 32.5-mn (+5% YoY) and Fiery USD 75.8-mn ((flat YoY). The total ink volume was up 65% YoY.

Region-wise break-up of the revenue saw America as the top grosser with USD 120.2-mn (51% of total), EMEA at USD 83.6-mn (36% of total), with Asia Pacific region garnering 30.3-mn (13% of total) being the least amount of earnings.

Gecht added, "At Drupa 2016, we expect to introduce entirely new platforms in every segment of our business, including an expansion into the vast packaging space. We expect products based on these powerful and versatile new platforms to fuel our growth in the coming years."
