EFI boosts growth at Macromedia with a LED kit

That's how MMD invested in the EFI Vutek GS3250Lx Pro LED which was first launched in April 2011 and has been one of EFI’s most popular LED hybrid roll-to-roll/flatbed printer in the Indian market. The Vutek, which can print onto substrates up to 5cm thick and can print at speeds of up to 223sqm/hr at maximum 1,000dpi resolution, has a 7pl drop size. The LED device uses EFI’s cool cure technology and can print onto a wider range of substrates than previous models, including heat-sensitive materials. The printer also holds eight print channels including white ink. The LX Pro designation means that it uses LED curing lamps.

The printers require one operator to manage it. And thanks to the LED technology, there is less maintenance and reduced touchpoints. For the pluses, there’s the speed and the Ultradrop technology that gives really good quality. The Vutek is versatile in its ability to print on either roll-fed flexible media, or rigid sheets supported front and back by removable roller tables. Sulzmann says that with the Vutek being a hybrid means there is something of a compromise, especially with rigid media. In addition, the printer also has the industry’s highest opacity white, allowing higher print speeds with perfect opacity. The EFI inks are specially formulated for best in-class adhesion, scratch resistance and fading resistance. When using 3MTM media and EFI 3M co-branded inks, the prints are covered by 3M MCS Warranty.
