“We have an ambitious target of one billion dollar to achieve in the next two years and India is an important market for the same” said Gecht.
Speaking exclusively to PrintWeek India on the sidelines of EFI Connect 2015 he sounded optimistic about the Indian economy under the newly-formed NDA government.
“Apart from our strategic plan for India, we are quite bullish about the overall economic environment in the country under the new Government,” he added.
This is EFI's largest Connect to date, and the four-day conference and exhibition, held at The Wynn in Las Vegas, had 2000-plus attendees from 25 countries. The event included a surprise interaction with Indigo founder Benny Landa and two thought provoking ‘fireside chats’ by Gecht with Thomas Quinlan, CEO of R.R. Donnelley who shared some of his company’s recent success formulae followed by the futuristic discussion on 3D printing with Avi Reichental, president and CEO of 3D systems.
Gecht was also asked about speculations in the market about EFI's interest in Scodix, which he described as "a good company and we know a lot about them".
At the event, EFI announced the integrated Productivity Suite, aimed to tie together all EFI software products using certified workflows for printing- offset, digital and packaging individually with an expected roll out by the end of the calendar year’s first quarter.
The company had an ‘innovation hub’ set up for the attendees to interact and get a feel of all EFI’s software products including the recently acquired marketing automation suite ‘DirectSmile’.
Some new features for the company’s flagship Fiery digital front-end, including Dynamic HD text and graphics for enhanced results on fine details and text was also demonstrated during the show.
