Experts from flexible packaging and specifically flexo are part of a two-hour round table discussion during which they will share their perspectives with the industry in India.
Hersh Lulla, the marketing manager (Asia Pacific Region) for Miraclon said, “As more packaging convertors in India start to look at flexo as the production process of choice, and those in flexo look to expand their businesses, this round table will serve as a valuable resource where multiple partners across the packaging value chain bring their thoughts together.”
The eight panelists include: Steve Smith, the principal consultant, Advanced Print Applications at Miraclon; Anders Stokholm, the global technical key account manager at tesa SE; Doug Cannon, the regional flexo technical manager at DIC ANZ & ASIA; Sunil Kumar, technical sales consultant – printing at Windmoller & Holscher; Nitin Narkhede, the chief operating officer at SB Packagings; Sethunath Padmanabhan, the managing director – Asia Pacific and Partner at Reproflex3; and Ahmad Nazmi Mohammad, the regional packaging manager, ASEAN Supply Chain at Kimberly-Clark Thailand. The session will be moderated by Sriraam Selvam of PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? magazines.
Lulla said, "We have had two rounds of discussions thus far with the seven experts as well as the PrintWeek team. During our discussions lots of points were raised about standardisation and the path to ECG implementation. Plus how to ensure better savings and the availability of substrates plus extrusion process. I think all the hard work will bear fruit during the two hour confabulation on 24 August (Wednesday).”
Sriraam Selvam said, "It was a huge learning for me to understand that brands arelooking to transition to flexo as well as grasping the sustainability quotient for flexo. For instance, Nitin Narkhede of SB Packagings was sharing with us as to how the company is producing sustainable packaging material for A-List brands and how it is a World Star award winner."
Selvam added, "Likewise Ahmad Nazmi Mohammad who has 26 years in packaging at Kimberly-Clark Thailand was sharing how flexible packaging produced with flexo is able to meet and exceed internal plus external customer and consumer expectations and needs within acceptable cost and quality.
