The iF Design Award is organised by Hanover-based iF International Forum Design. The winners are evaluated on the criteria such as practicability, workmanship, consideration of environmental standards, degree of elaboration and innovation, functionality, usability, safety, aesthetics, and universal design. The 2020 award winners were selected from 7,298 entries from 56 countries and regions by a 78-member jury comprised of experts from around the world.

“As successors of the Surecolor SC-P9050V and SC-P9050G, regarded as the industry standards for reproducing high-quality images in fine art, proofing, and photo laboratories, these products provide the functional operability of high-quality professional tools, such as internal lighting to immediately check printed material and a neutral color that does not interfere when making colour adjustments,” said a company press note shared with Pirntweek.

SureColor SC-P7500 and SC-P9500 are Epson's first 12-colour large-format printer and it claims to offer a wide colour gamut with 99% Pantone coverage. “The printers have been developed for artists and photographers, as it offers reproduction for professional proofing and a rapid throughput for high-volume production,” the press note added.

Both the printers are powered by the μTFP12 printhead with 300dpi resolution and 12 channels. They are equipped with a sealed main unit that provides dust protection. In addition, its ink sub-tanks enable continuous printing, even when the ink levels are low.

Led by the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, the worldwide Epson Group generates annual sales of more than USD10 billion.
