Epson has recently completed multiple installations of its Stylus Pro 9860, a large format digital printer.
"This machine is ideally suited for indoor, POP, posters, commercial photo printing and copy-shops," said Rajjimon Raghavan, area head, CBU west, Epson India.
The Epson Stylus Pro 9860, which is a large format digital printer, is suitable for different kinds of large format applications such as commercial, retail and graphics applications. It has a micro piezo TFP (thin film piezo) printhead that utilises six-colour photographic dye-based ink system to achieve greater efficiency.
Epson Stylus Pro 9860 is equipped with a four-second automatic rotary-type cutter that supports all media types, including adhesive, cloth and canvas. It has an integrated colour LCD control panel which helps in operation and includes Epson ePlaten technology that helps automatic media loading and handling with fast, spindle-free roll media support.
According to Raghavan, the significant feature of the machine is Mirco Piezo TFP print head which has micro-fine nozzles that creates ink droplets of size as small as 3.5 picoliter onto print media. It offers a throughput with 360 nozzles per colour, while a special ink-repellent coating reduces the occurrence of clogging. This machine has a printing resolution of 2,880x1,440 dpi and can handle media thickness from 0.08 to 1.50 mm.
