Esko’s new GM visits PrintWeek India office

Niranjan Delavictoire has been appointed as general manager of Esko India. He holds a bachelor’s degree of technology in mechanical engineering and has worked with Hewlett-Packard India and Ramco Systems. Delavictoire has been involved in starting new operations domestically and internationally with specialisation in “the Information technology sector”.

During a visit to the PrintWeek India office Delavictoire said, “We at Esko see a lot of potential the packaging sector which is growing at a substantial rate. Our plan going forward is to undertake key marketing step and create awareness about our products. We also wish to devise a strategy to increase our market share and reach out to newer customers in Tier II and Tier III cities. Expansion of the workforce and foraying into segments.” He felt, “FDI in retail will open up lots of avenues for the packaging and labelling sector.”

Esko have re-strategised its policy according to market feedback, Delavictoire said, “We have realised that though we had the technology required to fulfil customer requirement, only the Tier I customers were able to afford them. So we started new products which were cost-effective because it only had production tools which had minimum number of modules.”

While talking about the future of the Indian print industry, he stated, “I think the folding cartons sector is going to remain a major sector. We also think that flexible packaging will also show tremendous growth. At Esko, we are also targeting the potential of the signage and point- of-purchases. These are more or less are targeted sector. We wish to focus on a more robust marketing campaign in order to increase awareness. Our aim is to reach out to the entire supply chain, starting from brand owners to the end consumer.”

Commenting on the new appointment, Hoshi Deboo, president, Asia Pacific and Japan, Esko, said, “Delavictoire brings with him a wealth of market insight and experience that will enable Esko to effectively support its customers and help them grow in the rapidly expanding Indian packaging industry.”
